Ethiopian Center for Development (ECD) was officially inaugurated as a member of the 6th Batch of the UN Women Ethiopia Civil Society Advisory Group.

This moment marks an important opportunity to be part of a national platform that brings civil society closer to UN Women’s work in advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls in Ethiopia. The ceremony highlighted UN Women’s triple mandate and key areas of engagement, including women’s leadership and participation, inclusive economic development, coordination for gender equality across the UN system, and sustained partnership with civil society and women’s rights organizations. As ECD begins this two-year advisory term, we are proud to contribute our experience in community-based programming, youth and women’s empowerment, economic inclusion, and grassroots engagement. We also look forward to learning from fellow civil society partners and strengthening collective action that is informed by the real priorities, voices, and lived experiences of women and young people across Ethiopia. We are grateful to UN Women Ethiopia for creating and sustaining this important space for dialogue, accountability, partnership, and shared impact.
