June 22, 2026
June 17, 2026 The Ethiopian Center for Development (ECD) is proud to be part of the newly launched Renewed Women’s Voices and Leadership Ethiopia (RWVL-E) Initiative, a landmark six-year program dedicated to advancing women’s rights, leadership, and empowerment across Ethiopia. As the Multi-Year Grant Leading Principle Partner, ECD is honored to play a central role in managing and overseeing long-term investments that will strengthen women’s rights organizations and movements throughout the country. This role reflects ECD’s longstanding commitment to locally led development, gender equality, and sustainable social transformation. The RWVL-E Initiative brings together women’s rights organizations, civil society actors, government institutions, and development partners in a shared effort to expand opportunities for women and girls to exercise their rights, amplify their voices, and influence decisions that affect their lives and communities. The official launch marks the beginning of a transformative six-year journey focused on strengthening institutional capacity, fostering collective action, supporting grassroots leadership, and creating an enabling environment for women-led change. Through strategic partnerships and sustained investment, the initiative aims to build stronger organizations and movements capable of driving meaningful and lasting impact across Ethiopia. ECD looks forward to working closely with consortium partners and stakeholders to ensure that resources reach the organizations best positioned to create change and to promote inclusive, equitable, and resilient development outcomes. We are excited about the journey ahead and deeply grateful for the trust placed in us to help steward this important initiative. Together, we can advance a future where women and girls are empowered to lead, participate fully, and shape the decisions that define their lives and communities.
