The PCF Education Project an initiative aimed at improving the provision of quality primary education in the Addis Ababa City Administration. The project is implemented across 16 primary schools and has reached a total of 65,637 students, of whom 32,529 are girls. It is currently in its third phase, following two successfully completed phases focused on foundational improvements in school systems and practices.
The project focuses on three main areas: capacity development of education actors, improvement of school infrastructure, and strengthening community engagement in education. Through targeted training and continuous professional support, teachers have improved their instructional practices, particularly through the application of child centered approaches.
As a result, the project has contributed to better student learning outcomes, improved promotion rates, and the creation of safer, more inclusive, and more conducive learning environments. It continues to support schools in building stronger systems that sustain quality education and community ownership over time.
