STRENGTHENING THE CAPACITY OF WOMEN’S RIGHTS ORGANIZATIONS (WROS) AND CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS (CSOS) TO INFLUENCE POLICY PROCESSES AND ENGAGE IN EVIDENCE-BASED ADVOCACY

The Ethiopian Center for Development (ECD), with support from UN Women, implemented a six-month project aimed at strengthening the capacity of Women’s Rights Organizations (WROs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Ethiopia’s emerging and developing regional states. The project focused on enhancing the ability of local organizations to engage in evidence-based advocacy, influence policy processes, and promote the rights of vulnerable women and girls.

The initiative was implemented across South Ethiopia, Central Ethiopia, Gambella, and Somali regions, reaching women-led organizations, government stakeholders, and community representatives. Through comprehensive training, policy dialogues, and advocacy support, the project empowered participants with practical skills in research, data analysis, leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and policy advocacy.
